Recommended Classes
- Family Finance (SFL 260): No matter how finance-savvy (or how un-finance savvy) you may consider yourself, this class will help you better manage your money.
- Career Exploration (StDev 117): Despite the title, this class is as much about choosing a major, preparing a graduation plan, and deciding what you want from life as it is about exploring career options. It also serves as a good introduction to BYU’s academic and career counseling resources.
- Human Development (SFL 210): If you have any intention of ever having children, you won’t regret taking this course. It analyzes the development of children from infancy through adolescence. Larry Nelson’s sections of this course are some of the most sought-after classes at BYU.
- Preparation for Marriage (SFL 223): We heartily recommend this class over the marriage prep class offered through the Religion department: while both were good, we appreciated the insights provided by taking this class from an experienced marriage counselor and researcher. (Jason Carroll, who taught our section, was phenomenal.)
